Skellige Gwent Deck and Tournament | Witcher 3 Blood & Wine (20)

Skellige deck is a new addition to Gwent in Witcher 3: Blood and Wine expansion. Beside adding new cards it also offers new interactions/buffs not seen in other Gwent decks. Getting all the cards also finishes the appropriately named achievement/trophy I Have a Gwent Problem. It is not difficult to obtain, but we thought we should provide you with some info on how to get all the cards in the deck and win the tournament in Beauclair. Once you arrive in Toussaint you will probably visit the Cockatrice Inn. If you decide speak to the innkeeper there you will also be able to play Gwent with him. This will start two new quests; Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here and Gwent: To Everything – Turn, Turn, Tournament!

Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here takes you on a hunt for new Skellige Gwent deck cards. Our recommendation is that you first go visit Count Monnier in the Phaesentry and finish the Obtain a basic Skellige deck step of the quest. This provides you with some basic cards of the deck so you can play around with it and also signs you up for the tournament. Now you need to collect the other 19 cards to complete the full Skellige Deck. Make the step Collect all the missing cards in the Skellige deck active in your quest journal and this should show you the location of remaining 18 Gwent players in Toussaint. Beat all of them (with whichever deck) and they will all reward you with a new Skellige card. Once you complete this quest feel free to go to the tournament.

Map of all Skellige Deck card locations
Skellige deck has several strengths:
  • Good combo minions. Pair up Shield maidens, War Longships and Clan an Craite Warriors for massive damage.
  • New Berserker/Mardroeme buff. You have several minions that transform into very powerful versions once you apply the Mardroeme buff. Once you draw – keep the combo if you have it – otherwise just look for something else.
  • New Leader abilities. Crach moves all cards from graveyard into the deck. This is useful against decks that like to bring minions back from their graveyard (like Nilfgaard and Northern Realms) and it can be helpful for your combos. King Bran makes all weather effects remove only half the attack power from units. This is good if you are playing big minion deck and you don’t want to bring Clear Weather card.
  • Cerys is the new Hero card that lets you draw all Shield Maidens from your deck or hand. This creates a huge board with just one card (three shield maidens with 12 attack + 10 attack Cerys). Here is a nice combo. Round 1 play two of your shield maidens. If they end up in the graveyard use Crach an Craite leader ability to put all cards in graveyard into your deck and play Cerys afterwards. That is twice the shield maidens and many decks will struggle with removing that.
  • Skellige is basically a deck that relies on pure strength with huge minion presence on the board.

How to win the tournament with Skellige Deck in Blood and Wine

Once you have all of the cards go play the tournament. You will have to face four opponent decks – Monsters, Nilfgaardian, Skellige and Scoia’tael. I recommend you adjust your deck for each of the opponents and you will manage to overpower them. Here are some tips on how to win the whole tournament:
  • Don’t keep cards in your deck that do not create good combos. Brothers Lugos may seem cool, but if you draw into them they are just a 6 minion that does nothing. You would rather draw into that second shield maiden for 16 attack combo. This is the deck I used to win the tournament (I’ve added different cards when playing versus different factions so this is just a base deck):

  • Versus Monsters deck (your first match) you want to include more removal and Biting Frost cards to deal with their overwhelming board presence. So, use two Scorch and add an additional Skellige Storm (or Biting Frost). Just overpower them with your superior combo minions.
  • Versus Nilfgaard deck you have to be careful against its spies. It is imperative you have three decoys in your deck and that you draw into at least one at the beginning. Use this to draw cards yourself. Bait him into using his scorch against only one unit and overpower him because your minions are stronger if he doesn’t draw into his whole deck.
  • Versus Skellige have at least two Scorch because he is vulnerable against removals. This matchup can go either way, but I’ve noticed that you win more than you lose here.
  • Last match on the tournament is against Scoia’tael deck. I have a 50:50 record here. His leader ability kills you strongest close range units (like scorch for close range). Try to play around it. Use two scorch of your own and perhaps look for your ranged and siege combos. I found Kambi to be a very useful card in this matchup.
  • If you win all four matches you will get 1000 Crowns and a trophy you can place in your new house. If you lose the last match you will still get the trophy, but only 500 crowns. Skellige Gwent deck might not be for Gwent purists but I am glad to see the Skellige heroes make an appearance in this cool Witcher 3 side activity.

How to Beat Longlocks Boss | Witcher 3: Blood and Wine (19)

Longlocks is a boss in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. She’s a specter trapped in a tower in the Land of a Thousand Fables. You’ll encounter her during the quest Beyond Hill & Dale. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to beat Longlocks boss in Blood and Wine.

Blood and Wine Longlocks

Like most other specters, Longlocks has the ability to fly. She’ll use this ability several times during the fight to put some distance between the two of you. While she’s near the ground, use fast attacks to hit her twice, then dodge. You can use Yrden to slow her down – she’s extra sensitive to it. Coat your sword in specter oil before you enter the fight – it will increase the amount of damage you deal to her.

When you do enough damage, she’ll soar towards the ceiling and start healing. Meanwhile, she’ll summon a bunch of skeletons to entertain you. She’ll do this three times – after the third healing, you’ll be able to drain all her health.

                         Without skeletons                                                            With skeletons

The skeletons are the hard part of the fight. When you’re playing on Death March difficulty, two hits from them are enough to put you away. The battle takes place in a small space, so it’s crucial you have control over it. Keep rolling around the room and try to single one out. When you see one straying far enough from the others, roll towards him and shred him with light attacks. Don’t overdo it – always be ready to roll away into safety.

The skeletons regenerate health slowly while they’re near Longlocks. Pay them no mind – the amount of health they can regain is miniscule. If their healing really bothers you, you could use dimeritium bombs to try and block it – we haven’t tried this, but it should work.

Blood and Wine Endings | Witcher 3 (18)

Blood and Wine is the latest expansion for The Witcher 3. It takes place in Toussaint, a duchy spared from war, but not without its problems. There are three endings to the story – one happy, one sad and one tragic. Their paths diverge during the The Night of Long Fangs quest. This guide will show you allBlood and Wine endings, how to unlock them, how to get the good ending.

If you’re stuck in some other part of the game, be sure to check out our Witcher 3 Blood and Wine Walkthrough & Guides.

How to Get Good Ending in Blood & Wine

The good ending sees the duchess and Syanna put their differences aside and bury the hatchet. They forgive each other and lock arms in an embrace while the camera pans across the ducal palace.

In order to get this ending, you’ll have to:
  1. Go after Syanna in The Night of Long Fangs quest.
  2. Read all entries in the journal.
  3. Get the ribbon from the girl in the Beyond Hill & Dale quest.
Afterwards, during Pomp and Strange Circumstance, visit Syanna before you talk to Damien and start the ceremony. Go to where she’s held and persuade the guard to let you speak to her. The options you need to pick in this conversation are:
  1. Cause she turned her back on you, forgot about you.
  2. Ever thought to forgive her?
  3. Might ask her that.
After that, talk to Damien and inform him you know about Syanna’s true plans (Fifth victim – know who it was supposed to be). He’ll thank you and lead you to the ceremony. When the duchess asks if you’re happy with your reward, tell her about Syanna’s plans (Got bad news – Syanna was out to kill you).

When the duchess asks your opinion, tell her Syanna’s clearly guilty. When Syanna lays out her defence and starts a counterattack, tell her You were children then, both. This will trigger the happy ending.

Bad Ending in Blood and Wine

This path ends with you in jail, Syanna dead and Anna Henrietta angry and grieving. Here’s what you need to do in order to unlock it:
  1. Go after Syanna in The Night of Long Fangs.
  2. Don’t take the ribbon from the girl in Beyond Hill & Dale. This will cause Dettlaff to kill Syanna.
You will end up in prison, only to be saved by your trusty bard friend at a later point.

Blood & Wine Tragic Ending

The worst path ends with both Syanna and Anna Henrietta dead. The whole of Toussaint is in grieving, while the country slowly falls into disrepair.

There are two ways to trigger this ending:
  • Choose to go after the Unseen Elder in The Night of Long Fangs.
  • Skip talking to Syanna before the ceremony.
After the duchess awards you the crest, Syanna will be brought up to trial, and she’ll use the opportunity to kill her sister. Damien will manage to put a crossbow bolt through her neck, but not before the damage has already been done.

Blood and Wine Infinite Money & Item Glitch - Update 1.21 (17)

Infinite Money Glitch in Blood and Wine lets you earn thousands of crowns in mere minutes. This exploit requires a bit of skill and patience, but it will pay out handsomely. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to take advantage of infinite money & item glitch in update 1.21.

Blood and Wine Money Exploit

Here’s what you have to do:
  1. Go to White Orchard.
  2. Make sure it’s night (it’s easier this way, without crowds on the streets).
  3. Go to the armorer and buy all the stuff you can (so he has as much money as possible)

4.Go to the house in the northwest of the village and look for a beehive on a tree behind           it.

5.Use Aard to knock the hive down.
6.Push it to the armorer’s shop using Aard. The bees will attack and kill him when the               hive is close  enough.

7.Meditate for 1 hour. The armorer will respawn, and the bees will kill him again.
8.Repeat the last step as many times as you wish.
9.Loot all the armorer corpses from the pile – each will have his full inventory and the              amount of money you left him with after step #3.

If you start out with a decent sum, you can end with hundreds of thousands in mere minutes. You’re going to need this money – upgrading Corvo Bianco isn’t cheap, and getting all the Grandmaster Witcher Gear is also pretty expensive. Just don’t update the game before you’ve made your fortune – the devs have been known to patch out glitches like this pretty quickly.

Hen Gaidth Armor | Witcher 3: Blood and Wine (16)

Hen Gaidth Armor is a relic set in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. It’s a crimson heavy armor set that restores your vitality every time you kill someone. You’ll have to get to level 53 if you want to use it. You can get it during one of the main quests, if you’ve chosen to pursue the Unseen Elder. This guide will show you how to get Hen Gaidth armor in Witcher 3, what it looks like and its stats.

Hen Gaidth Set Location

You can get the whole set during What Lies Unseen, a main quest you only get if you chose to go after the Unseen Elder in The Night of Long Fangs. The first two pieces are in a chest next to the hole you emerge from when entering the cave.

After you reach the room with the bonfire and the waterfall, follow the foot marks into the tunnel until there’s a branching. Follow the left branch and you’ll end up in a room with several level 56 protofelders. When you defeat them, look for a chest near the wall – that’s where the next two pieces will be.

After you slide down the stone wall, you’ll end up on top of a tower. The chest with the last two pieces of the armor will be by the tower wall.

Hen Gaidth Armor Stats

This is a heavy armor set that requires you to be level 53 to wear it. It looks exactly like the Tesham Mutna armor, complete with mask and everything, only it’s bloody red and with better stats. The set bonus is also the same:
  • 3/6 pieces: Killing enemies restores vitality. You get 1% max HP back from every kill, for every equipped piece (max 6%).

Aerondight Best Sword Location | Witcher 3 Blood and Wine (15)

Aerondight is a new weapon in The Witcher 3, added in the Blood and Wine expansion. It’s a silver sword with a massive damage output that rewards skillful swordsmanship – one of the best weapons in Witcher 3You might be familiar with it if you’ve played the previous games. You can get it by solving a particularly vague quest. This guide will show you how to get Aerondight in Witcher 3, its stats and what it looks like.
If you’ve played the first Witcher, you’ll remember it as the one the Lady of the Lake gave you. She’s also the one who will give it to you this time, after you prove your worth.

Witcher 3 Aerondight Location

To get the Aerondight, you’ll have to complete a sidequest called There Can Be Only One. You can pick it up from a notice board (we found it in front of the Cockatrice Inn). It will lead you towards Lac Celavy lake, directly east from Corvo Bianco. Talk to the hermit living there, and he’ll tell you you’ll get the sword from the lake if you prove you posses the five virtues.

You’ll do this by taking on five specific quests and ensuring you complete them with a certain outcome. Chose right, and you will be rewarded. If you import a save file from the previous two games (that had this sword), you’ll only have to fight the hermit.

Honor

Scour the notice board in Beauclair to start the quest Till Death Do You Part. Go to the cemetary, investigate and solve the dispute between the two ghosts any way you want. After that, go to the quest giver in Clever Clogs tavern and tell him it was Actually, just a marital spat.

Alternative way: During The Warble of a Smitten Knight quest, finish the horse race, accept the duel and win it.

Wisdom

Go to a cave a bit south-west of the hermit’s lake. Before you enter, a couple of civilians will come out and give you the quest Father Knows Worst. Save their brother, who is left inside, and help their reconciliation by choosing No one dies. Not Today. during the conversation before you exit.

Alternative way: Lift the curse off the Wight in the quest La Cage Au Fou. More details about this are in our Corvo Bianco Trophy guide.

Compassion

Pick up the quest Big Game Hunter from the notice board in front of the Cockatrice Inn. Don’t harm the panthers while you’re working through the quest. After the work is done and you’re back at the camp, ask the guards about the Count’s life (New life? Something wrong before?). Agree to come to his exhibition when he invites you (Sure, why not?), and don’t forget to actualy visit it and talk to him.

Alternative way: Spare the Shaelmaar after the fight in the arena during the quest The Beast of Toussaint.

Generosity

A short while after you reach Beauclair, a small child will approach you on the street. He’ll give you a letter from Yennefer, the one that starts the Turn to Face The Strangequest. Don’t be a scrooge, be sure to leave him a tip (Here, your tip.).

Alternative ways: Buy Geralt’s portrait from the painter in the quest The Witcher As an Old Man (it will cost you 1000 crowns), or give the bootblack at the docks 500 crowns for information when the option presents itself.

Valor

Go to a cave a bit northwest of Beauclair Palace. You’ll find a knight outside, asking for help. You’ll get theFeet As Cold As Ice quest once you accept. Go through it and when he starts talking to you inside, tell him to Take the damned head, go back to Beauclair.

Alternative way: In the quest The Warble of a Smitten Knight, win the tourney after you’re back from the woods.

Aerondight Stats

Aerondight is a silver sword that does a bunch of damage, but doesn’t have the usual stats. Instead, it has some unique abilities. Every time you hit an enemy, your damage will go up by 10%. As time passes, you’ll lose charges. Same goes for getting hit. When the sword is fully charged, it deals critical damage with every swing.

The other ability increases the sword’s damage permanently each time you kill someone while it’s fully charged. The threshold for this increase moves up as you level up your character, letting the weapon practically level up alongside you.

Gesheft Silver Sword | Witcher 3 Blood and Wine (14)

Gesheft is a relic silver sword in Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. You can use it at level 45 or above and it will give you increased Aard intensity and double critical hit damage, with a slight chance to poison enemies. It’s a great weapon – easy to get, too, if you know where to look. You’ll need to craft it yourself, though. In this guide, we’re going to show you where to find Gesheft in Witcher 3, its stats and what it looks like.

Gesheft Diagram Location

Go north-east from Beauclair, to the river bank past Dun Tynne Crossroads. Follow the river to the east until you reach a stream. Cross it and look for a monster den entrance among the trees, a hole in the ground. Once you enter it, turn left. Keep going left – you’ll have to walk a while. At some point, you’ll reach a camp next to a stalagmite, with two mattresses and a table. Look for a chest on the other side of the stalagmite – you’ll find the diagram inside.

Gesheft Stats

Gesheft is a silver sword you can use after you reach level 45. It does 508-620 damage and gives you +30% Aard intensity, +15% critical hit chance and +15% chance to poison enemies. It also doubles your critical hit damage. It’s a pretty cool weapon you can get without much trouble, so if you meet the level requirements and have the necessary materials, we recommend taking it at least until you get your hands on Aerondight.

Here’s what you’ll need to craft it:
  • Leather Scraps x2
  • Enriched Dimeritium Ingot x2
  • Acid Extract x1
  • Sapphire x1

Nazairi Basil | Witcher 3 Blood and Wine (13)

Nazairi Basil is a rare herb in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. It’s a bright green shrub that’s used in alchemical formulas concerning green mutagens – you’ll use it to craft and transmute them. It’s very hard to find, so every little bit counts. In this guide, we’re going to show you where to find Nazairi Basil in Witcher 3.

Be sure to take a look at our Witcher 3 Walkthrough & Guides if you’re having issues with anything else in the new DLC.

Nazairi Basil Locations

The only place we’ve found this rare plant so far is Corvo Bianco. But there’s a catch – you’ll need to invest some cash in your estate first. In order to get it to grow, you’ll have to buy the following upgrades:
  • General Renovations – 5000 crowns
  • Greenhouse – 2000 crowns
Once the upgrades are done, teleport to the vineyard and go right, across the stream. Look for the greenhouse next to the garden, where all the regular plants are.

Thankfully, the plants you pick do grow back after some time. If you’re in a pinch, you could pick them, then meditate until they reappear, pick them again and so on. Even if you don’t need them right now, it would be wise to invest in the greenhouse and pick these plants every time you visit the estate, to stock up for when you really need them.

Winter Cherry | Witcher 3 Blood and Wine (12)

Winter Cherry is a rare plant you can use to transmute mutagens in Witcher 3. It’s a small, round fruit, coming from a plant with red flowers growing directly from the stalk. It made its first appearance in Blood and Wine, and it can help you turn blue and green ones into red mutagens. It’s very rare, so you’d best snatch it whenever you have a chance. In this guide, we are going to show you Winter Cherry locations in Witcher 3.

If you need assistance with finding any other important item, weapon or armor, take a look at ourWitcher 3 Walkthrough & Guides.

Winter Cherry Location

We aren’t aware of any instances of Winter Cherry growing in the wild. Thankfully, you can grow it in your garden at Geralt’s vineyard. All you need to do is buy some essential upgrades and you’ll be ready to go. Here are the ones you need:
  • Estate renovations – 5000 crowns
  • Garden – 2000 crowns
You’ll get a nice little greenhouse along with the garden, and that’s where the Winter Cherry fruit can be found. When you arrive at the estate, go under the woooden arches then right. Cross the stream and look for a building enveloped in flowers, right next to the garden.

There are only four bushes growing at Corvo Bianco, but the fruit will grow again if you give it time. If you’re in a hurry, you can meditate until it shows up again (although you might have to leave first). Make a point out of collecting Winter Cherries every time when you’re at your home base, and you’ll have no shortage once you really do need them.
